We’ve had our eye on the fashion of Bollywood up-and-comer Asin for a while now. We’ll admit it, we haven’t seen her latest flick, but this young starlette’s style has got us hooked. The actress has said that her name means “Pure” or “Flawless,” which is exactly what her style projects: Just fashion, no fuss.
From celebrity sangeets, to award shows, Asin sticks to simple, but luxurious gowns and sarees that reflect her effortless style. What we love about Asin’s style is that she does what we at Luxemi encourage you to do – find unique pieces that make a statement about you.
We absolutely loved her looks at Bollywood power couple Genelia D’Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh’s wedding last month – mostly because she was rocking some serious Nikasha-inspired looks (a Luxemi favorite!). She absolutely stunned in a modern twist on the traditional white and gold saree, with a delicate flower accent. You can get this look with Luxemi’s Tonal Chikan Work Saree by Nikasha. The striking gold border adds instant luxury to this look.
Her sangeet outfit was a perfect choice, with bright, festive colors. The embroidery on her dupatta adds the right amount of shimmer. This look also reminded us of our Nikasha collection, marked by bright colors and tassel embellishments. The Bud Print Lehenga Saree by Nikasha is a great option to get this look for less, but for an even closer match, try borrowing Luxemi’s Neon Lehenga with Gota Work by Laila Motwane if you love Asin’s color combination. To capture the exact effect of Asin’s lehenga with the net embroidered duppata with tassels, fitted blouse, and heavy border, get the Watermelon Net Lehenga with Mango Dupatta.
At the FilmFare awards nomination party, Asin opted for a bold red dress with a heavy gold collar, and used restraint when accessorizing, which made her look even more striking. If you want to score this red & gold collar look for an Indian event, borrow the Crimson “Sitara” Salwar from Luxemi.
She used a similar approach at a recent awards show in a Monique Lhuillier-inspired Emerald Silk Gown. By opting to go with striking long crystal and pearl earrings, and leaving a necklace out, she glows and lets her gown do the talking. These Diamonique Hanging Earrings with Pearls from Luxemi will help you achieve this effect with any gown.
We totally loved her flirty look at director Farah Khan’s birthday bash as well. She paired this khaki, industrial-feeling mini-dress with a feminine bag, took her look up a notch with a black blazer. We are big fans of adding blazers to your ensemble (even sarees!), and love this look on Asin. These Sterling Silver Engraved Hanging Earrings from Luxemi make an impact on literally everything, and add a chic element to a dress like this without going overboard. Restraint is a key component to Asin’s approach to style, and we think it’s great!
